Today’s agenda: weighing, eye check, first worming
Dear humans, you’re surely curious about what’s new with the babies. There isn’t all that much. The babies’ daily routine is rather monotonous: guzzle, sleep, poo, wee, sleep, guzzle, sleep, guzzle, sleep, poo, wee, sleep… I’d nod off just watching it myself.
But today there’s at least a little activity programme for the residents of our institution:
– weighing: I keep having to use a bigger and bigger tub on the scales — well, they’re proper little bears from Třeštice, and the record-holder is little Akeem, already tipping the scales at 988 g. Together they already weigh 7 kg!!! The average gain at two weeks is 2.6 times the birth weight.
– eyes opening… nothing to see yet, only Amy has her left little eye slightly ajar; the others don’t yet fancy laying eyes on today’s world, and I can’t say I blame them — we’ll wait and see.
– worms: the first official health procedure went off without the little ones having to pay a personal visit to our wonderful vet. The doctor gave instructions and a worming paste, as a precaution against nasty roundworms. Each baby got 0.5 ml of paste popped into their mouth, gave a little smack — yum yum — a pink tongue peeked out, and done. So in another fortnight there’ll be another treat!
And that’s all, friends… we’re off to guzzle, sleep, poo… well, you know the rest. Oh all right, I’ll add a few new photos too.
